We need 1000 members to bring the BIXI program to Toronto! Yesterday we did our part by hosting the mobile sign-up unit outside the store.
Those tempted by the BIXI service may choose between the $95/year membership or a $5 credit charge for each use, but the service is meant for trips of 30 minutes or less (which are included with the membership).
As for the bikes themselves, I don't see anyone tackling the Avenue hill as part of a daily routine, but these bikes will be great for a Sunday afternoon ride around Forest Hill or even for a quick errand across town. Can't wait for the first group ride with my friends on a BIXI!
